Homebody Is a Vibe

There’s a lot to love about going out. But staying home? Highly underrated.

Comfy clothes. Coffee within reach. Your favorite spot on the couch. A candle burning. Maybe a book, maybe a movie, maybe absolutely nothing on the agenda.

Around here, we call that Homebody mode.

And as we ease into fall, cozy doesn’t have to mean changing everything around the house or covering every available surface with pumpkins. It can be as easy as adding a soft blanket, switching up a few pillows, lighting a candle and making home a place you’re perfectly happy hanging out in.

Here’s how we’re embracing the Homebody vibe.

Homebody Is a Mood

Plans canceled? We’re not mad about it.

Hair up. Favorite tee on. Coffee nearby. Phone on silent — or at least thinking about putting it on silent.

Our Homebody tees, sweatshirts and Homebody Crew hats were made for exactly this kind of day. Add pajama pants, slippers and nowhere you absolutely need to be and you've pretty much nailed the dress code.

Homebody status: activated.

Start With Something Cozy

Even in Hawaiʻi, we appreciate a good blanket.

Breezy mornings, rainy afternoons, movie nights, aggressive air conditioning — there are plenty of perfectly legitimate reasons to keep one within reach.

Throw one across the bed or couch, tuck one into a basket, and you're ready when the mood strikes.

Unless the dog gets there first.

Then apparently it's his blanket.

Give the Room Some Personality

One of the easiest ways to change the mood of a room? Pillows.

Switching out pillow covers can bring in new colors and patterns without completely redecorating. For fall, we're loving warm neutrals, earthy greens, soft blues and tropical prints that make things feel warmer while still looking right at home in Hawaiʻi.

Because fall doesn't require orange leaves and pumpkins everywhere.

A palm print works just fine around here.

Light a Candle. You're Staying In.

There is something about lighting a candle that immediately says:

Okay. We're done for the day.

Put one on the coffee table while you read. Light one while you're making dinner. Bring it out to the lanai for pau hana.

Our Mahalo Mode candle fits especially well right now — a reminder to slow down, appreciate where you are and enjoy the good stuff already around you.

And yes, pouring a glass of wine is completely compatible with this philosophy.

Pick Your Homebody Drink

Coffee before conversation.

Tea and a book.

Something cold on the lanai.

Wine at pau hana.

Whatever's in the cup, there's something very satisfying about having a favorite mug waiting in the cabinet.

Bonus points if you don't have to put on shoes to enjoy it.

And Yes, Your Outfit Counts

Nobody said Homebody had to be glamorous.

Freshly showered. Hair wrapped in a towel. Oversized sweatshirt. Ice cream directly after dinner — or possibly for dinner.

We're not judging.

In fact, we're starting to think the Homebody uniform may be one of our better fashion decisions.

Make Yourself at Home

Being a Homebody isn't about having a perfectly styled house.

It's about creating a place that feels like you.

A favorite mug. A soft blanket. Pillows that make you happy. A candle burning. Something comfy to wear.

Maybe the windows are open and the trades are coming through. Maybe the coffee is still hot. Maybe the dog has taken over the best spot on the couch.

Sounds pretty good to us.

Homebody is definitely a vibe.
