Kailua is the best place to be on the 4th of July. Festivities begin in the morning with a mile long 4th of July parade. Tents are set up the night before and the community lines up on the side of the road to watch local organizations, businesses, schools, and more march down the road. We love the small town vibe. Dogs, family and friends all gather to celebrate!
What do we recommend wearing to a beach town parade? Something cool and comfy AND red, white or blue :)...like our graphic tees and dad hats.
The rest of the day is filled with beach picnics and barbeques and spending time with family and friends. The highlight is the fireworks that light up the sky off of Kailua beach.
After a day in the sun, switch from your swim suit to a cute dress or cami with a denim button down top and enjoy the fireworks!! Outfit changes are always recommended :).
This is the first year since the covid shutdown that the fireworks are back - super exciting!! Hopefully next year the parade will be back as well :).
